At a bare age of 16, John Lloyd started his hairdressing career by enrolling with A Cut Above Academy and graduated by obtaining his Diploma for both A Cut Above (Malaysia) and City & Guilds (London). He was also certified by leading colour brands L’oreal Professional, Schwarzkopf Professional, etc.

In 2007, He was employed by Ish Salon, a salon that is very well known amongst expat community in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. John was trained by Michael Marriner, Ken Tan and Ryan Taylor combined had more than 40 years of in salon hairdressing experience and educated by Toni & Guy, Vidal Sassoon respectively.

After serving 10 years with Ish Salon, Lloyd resigned as Art Director and Shareholder and embarked in his new adventure at 176 Avenue as their new Art Director.

John specialises in cut and colouring for both men and women, Cauasian and Asian clients. With his classic meets modern/edgy taste, John mixes up his techniques creating soft beach blondes to seamless, dimensional balayages, long layered haircuts to short cropped pixies and surfer, Tom Ford locks to razor faded sleek back pompadours.
